I know from personal experience how challenging it can be to begin therapy, and I also know how rewarding and life-changing it is. Therapy offers an opportunity to learn and grow in a way that school, university, or work do not. It's my firm belief that you have the power to choose who you want to be in life, and how you want to live it. Therapy teaches you to make conscious choices about life, and provides the tools to implement those choices.
My objective is to provide a safe and accepting space where we can work in collaboration to build the resilience, courage, and self-acceptance necessary to face life's challenges. I am passionate about doing what I can to help people overcome difficulty, and be their best selves. I refresh and update my skills often to ensure I can serve you to the best of my ability. I am originally from Co. Fermanagh and I spent time in different parts of Ireland in my 20's and 30's before moving to Vancouver where I trained as a therapist. I lived and practiced there for 6 years before returning home. |

In addition to a broad training in traditional therapeutic approaches, I have specialisations in Adlerian Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness for Therapeutic Settings, Transpersonal Psychology, and Meditation.
I believe in the importance of a holistic approach, so I will often encourage between-session 'homework' that supports and enhances the work we do in session. I may ask you (where possible) to include some exercise in your day, or a meditation practice, or to bring some mindful awareness to your thought patterns throughout your day. |
