Instructions for "The Little Things..." Every morning when you wake up this week, make a decision to notice and appreciate the small things that bring you happiness. (It might help to set a reminder on your phone.) It could be the sunshine that we are enjoying here in Ireland, it could be a couple laughing together on the street, or a little kid filled with excitement at the mention of Santa. No matter what it is, notice it and savour it. We've all seen the Hollywood movies showing Hollywood families having Hollywood holidays, and you know that your holiday probably won't look like that. There may be a squabble or two, you may be finding it difficult to make ends meet, or you may be facing a lonely day in front of the TV. Try not to focus on the dissapointments that go along with the hype of the season. Whatever your circumstances, give yourself the gift of a little happiness, in the form of little things. They're everywhere, and if you start to look for them, you can't help but find them. Merry Christmas. “If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.” ~Rabbi Harold Kushner
